About the position

The Engineering Technician II role at Chickasaw Nation Industries involves providing engineering and installation support for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Power Systems contract. This position focuses on the construction and operation of various electrical power equipment and fuel systems, requiring significant travel to FAA client sites.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the enhancement and/or maintenance of existing power systems at various FAA facilities.
  • Provides support in the demolition and disposal of current power system equipment, such as EG, UPS, electrical distribution equipment, fuel systems, and fuel tanks.
  • Provides maintenance services for existing power systems.
  • Aids in the development and preservation of the overall production schedule for project deliverables.
  • Troubleshoots failures in equipment and systems.
  • Conducts performance tests of electrical systems.
  • Installs specific electrical power system equipment installations, including engine generators (EG), EG fuel systems, EG fuel tanks, Uninterruptible Power Supply(s) (UPS), Static Transfer Switch, and electrical distribution equipment.
  • Inspects construction-related tasks such as utility installation, general electrical work, heavy equipment operation, welding, and mechanical tasks.
  • Learns installation of various electrical systems, including engine generators (EG), EG fuel systems, EG fuel tanks, UPS, Static Transfer Switch, and associated power system support equipment.
  • Ensures all safety requirements are met by FAA and OSHA standards.
  • Plans daily activities within company policy and supervisor's instructions to maximize personal output.
  • Responsible for self-development through available training and maintaining a neat and orderly work area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and a minimum of two years of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Experience working as an electrical technician focusing on power distribution systems.
  • Experience in a construction-related discipline such as utility installation, general electrical work, heavy equipment operation, welding, concrete, and mechanical work preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license; CDL license is a plus.
  • Must have a clean driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Operational knowledge of Personal Computer Systems & Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of equipment fabrication, prototype assembly, and testing.
