About the position

The Engineering Technician II is a key member of a multi-functional team providing technical support services to the Federal Aviation Administration Logistic Center (FAALC) at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, OK. This role involves a variety of technical, operational, and functional tasks aimed at ensuring that electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment meets serviceability, reliability, and availability requirements. Responsibilities include assembling, repairing, and refurbishing equipment, conducting performance analyses, and ensuring compliance with FAA and FAALC standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble or construct simple or standard equipment or parts following specific instructions.
  • Service or repair simple instruments or equipment as needed.
  • Conduct a variety of tests using established methods, preparing test specimens, and recording test data.
  • Point out deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors during testing.
  • Extract engineering data from prescribed sources and process it using well-defined methods.
  • Present processed data in prescribed formats.

Requirements

  • Two years of practical experience in an engineering technician support position.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, repairing, assembling, testing, and installing electrical and mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Minimum High School diploma/GED with completion of formal technical training courses or an Associate Degree in Electrical or Engineering Technology.
