About the position

The Building People is seeking an HVAC Engineer II to assist in the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for assigned properties. This role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance, conducting routine assessments, and ensuring a clean and safe working environment. The position is integral to supporting the overall mission of optimizing performance in the built environment through innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineer Tech 1 in the operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Perform rounds and conduct routine assessments of assigned properties.
• Execute day-to-day preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Inspect engine room equipment, fan room equipment, cooling towers, motors, house pumps, electrical rooms, back-up generators, fire pumps, sump pumps, and ejector pumps.

Requirements

• Two years of experience in HVAC or related field (education/trade school can substitute for one year of experience).
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Basic computing skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Level 1 & 2 EPA certification.
• Commercial HVAC/R Journeyman level training/certification from a college or trade school.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a similar role for two years.
• Graduate of an apprentice program or trade school.
