About the position

The Engineering Technician III position involves working on waterfront shipboard construction and re-modernization projects for U.S. Naval ships. The role requires the technician to perform a variety of tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment in challenging environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls, troubleshoots, modifies, constructs and tests various types of electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment and related devices.
• Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles to put equipment in operational condition and solve complex problems.
• Troubleshoots and corrects malfunctions using specialized test and diagnostic equipment.
• Modifies circuitry to improve performance.
• Makes recommendations for improvements or modifications to correct problems.
• Provides operation and maintenance instruction to customer personnel.
• Prepares operating and malfunction reports and related documentation.
• Assists engineering staff in determining and solving equipment design problems.
• May perform quality assurance testing of assemblies and equipment fabricated by other technicians.
• May provide work leadership to less-experienced technicians.
• Participates in special projects, as required.

Requirements

• 3+ years of related experience
• Associates of Arts/Associates of Science degree
• US Citizenship Required
