About the position

The Engineering Technician In Training position at Terracon involves performing field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials. The role requires effective communication with various stakeholders, including project managers and contractors, to ensure compliance with project requirements and safety standards. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining equipment and preparing reports based on testing results.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.
• Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractors regarding project requirements and testing results.
• Transport material samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
• Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
• Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites as needed.
• Adhere to strict safety standards and report any safety issues to management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
