About the position
The Engineering Technician IV - Stormwater Specialist position involves intermediate to advanced civil engineering work, focusing on the design, plan preparation, and construction inspections of municipal projects. The role is responsible for technical and administrative duties related to stormwater management, including compliance with various environmental regulations and the preparation of related plans and studies.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical and complex work in design and plan preparation for municipal projects.
- Conduct construction inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Manage and maintain the Storm Water Management Plan and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan.
- Ensure compliance with NPDES Permit and other surface water quality regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of surface water quality studies and plans.
Requirements
- Two years of college/technical courses in mathematics, drafting, land surveying, and/or engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Three years of municipal design, drafting, and inspection experience, with one year of additional training or experience in storm water management.
- One year of experience in the use of computer drafting.
- Possession of Mn/DOT certification for Design of Construction SWPPP, Erosion/Sediment Control Inspector/Installer, Aggregate Production, Grading and Base, Bituminous Street, and Concrete Field, or the ability to obtain these certifications within one year of employment.
