About the position

The Engineering Technician role is a full-time position focused on supporting manufacturing processes through the development and implementation of process controls and improvements. The technician will monitor production, provide training to operators, and apply problem-solving skills to address production issues, ensuring adherence to quality standards and minimizing downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Assist manufacturing in resolving production problems, actively participating in daily production meetings.
  • Use a hands-on approach to develop and promote process improvements.
  • Participate in department operation team meetings to support goals of cycle time reduction, lowering costs, and enhancing quality.
  • Ensure engineering documentation used for production is accurate, complete, and functional for producing conforming products.
  • Work with purchasing to source materials needed to maintain or improve production.
  • Educate production personnel on processing and product purposes to enhance awareness of product quality and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate the production of new product prototypes with BUG Leaders, engineers, and production personnel.
  • Assist in the development and production of new product prototypes.
  • Aid in the transition of new products from development stages to production.
  • Make on-the-fly process adjustments based on analysis of process data.
  • Respond to production personnel requests for improved methods.
  • Maintain a safe workplace and follow safety rules.
  • Seek additional responsibilities and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience and/or knowledge in statistics and ceramic material processing (desirable but not required)
  • Experience with ISO 9001 compliance
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong math skills
  • Experience with MS Office, particularly Excel

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience and/or knowledge in the areas of statistics and ceramic material processing
