As an Engineering Technician at Booz Allen, you will play a crucial role in supporting Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) certification activities for Naval ships. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting visual inspections of shipboard topside equipment to assess the physical condition of installed bonding and grounding measures, as well as the status of EMC fix installations. You will also be involved in the repair or installation of bonding and grounding measures, which may include bolts or bond straps, and fix kits. Your findings will be documented in templated status reports, ensuring that all necessary information is accurately recorded. This position will require you to embark on Naval ships, providing you with hands-on experience in a dynamic environment. To be successful in this role, you will need to have a solid background in testing, evaluation, or investigation of military or commercial Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems or components, particularly in relation to Radio Frequency (RF) engineering, EMC, or Electromagnetic Interference. You should be proficient in using MS Office products, including Word and Excel, and possess the ability to execute manual labor, such as replacing bolts or bonding straps. Additionally, you will need to conduct visual inspections of system conditions aboard naval ships, including systems located in hard-to-reach areas, such as antennas on the ship's mast. The role will also require travel both within the Continental United States (CONUS) and outside the Continental United States (OCONUS), and a valid Secret clearance is mandatory for this position.
