About the position
The Electrical Designer Technician I position at Westinghouse involves creating technical documents and specifications, ensuring compliance with design standards, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. This hybrid role requires on-site presence at the Rock Hill, SC facility for 2-3 days a week, focusing on delivering clean energy solutions while promoting diversity in the workplace.
Responsibilities
- Create technical documents and specifications, including schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Check and verify design drawings for compliance with applicable specifications.
- Review interdisciplinary documentation to validate electrical interface requirements.
- Translate supplier drawings and design documents into appropriate design deliverables.
- Develop wiring design documentation for electrical power, control, and instrumentation wiring.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education Diploma, Certificate, or 2-year Degree from a recognized Engineering Technical Program or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Proficient in the use of Microstation and/or AutoCAD Electrical 2020 or equivalent.
- Thorough knowledge of drafting principles and standards for checking design drawings.
- Basic knowledge in the creation of technical documents such as schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Basic knowledge of electrical power, control, and instrumentation design.
Nice-to-haves
- Basic knowledge of PLC and relay logic control design.
- Basic knowledge of single line, 3 line and relay protection and control diagrams.
- Basic knowledge of National Electric Code.
