About the position

The Engineering Technician (Soft Goods) at Bastion Technologies will support the NBL Operations Contract in Houston, TX. This role involves utilizing technical expertise to design, develop, and manufacture soft goods such as fabrics and textiles, ensuring they meet specific performance requirements. The technician will collaborate with engineers and production teams, create technical specifications, and ensure accurate production of products.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technical expertise to design, develop, and manufacture soft goods like fabrics and textiles.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to ensure products meet specific performance requirements.
• Create technical specifications, pattern making, prototyping, and testing materials.
• Work with industrial sewing machines and various hardware attachments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of recent and related work experience.
• US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer-related information.

Nice-to-haves

• Visualizing and sketching products based on style and utility needs.
• Pattern drafting from original sketches and pictures.
• Ability to work with various materials including cotton, polyester, nylon, and canvas.
• Sewing materials by hand and/or sewing machine.
• Creation of mockups to test pattern fit.
• Understanding of types of thread and their uses.
• Experience in setting hardware including grommets, snaps, and zippers.
