About the position

The Engineering Technician VI (AEGIS Fire Control) position at Mayport Naval Station, Florida, is a full-time role that requires a highly skilled individual with a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and electronic disciplines. The technician will be responsible for providing Fleet Technical Assistance, conducting assessments, and offering logistical support for U.S. Navy ships' MK45, MK110, Minor Caliber Gun Systems, and Small Arms/Night Vision Devices. This role demands hands-on experience and the ability to interpret shipboard technical documents to assess, repair, and document equipment deficiencies. The technician will also be tasked with configuring equipment in alternate structures to meet mission requirements. Candidates must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, and candidates must be eligible to receive and maintain a valid U.S. Passport. Additionally, a valid Secret Clearance is mandatory for this role. The job is 100% on-site, and technicians must be physically capable of climbing a pilot's ladder to board naval vessels underway at sea and remain onboard for several days during operations. This position is critical to ensuring the operational readiness and effectiveness of naval weapon systems.

Responsibilities
