About the position
SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician to support engineering activities in Middletown, RI. The role involves working on the design, testing, modification, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, including electronic circuits and photonics. The technician will perform troubleshooting functions and prepare engineering documentation while working under limited supervision.
Responsibilities
- Support engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.
- Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting functions.
- Assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
- Collect, maintain, organize, compile, and manipulate technical data.
- Prepare engineering documentation, reports, drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.).
Requirements
- Associate's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience (5 years) accepted in lieu of degree.
- 5 years of related experience in electrical wiring and cabling.
- Ability to obtain up to SECRET level clearance.
- Production cable building experience.
- Experience wiring electronics and reading schematics/drawings.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with MK695 torpedo test system.
