About the position

The Engineering Technician position at Kratos Defense and Security Solutions is an entry-level role designed for individuals to gain proficiency in routine engineering tasks under the guidance of experienced technicians. The technician will be responsible for conducting standardized tests, analyzing data, and maintaining test stations, all while ensuring compliance with safety and organizational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform standard, routine material characterization tests and related activities with oversight.
  • Set up test stations and maintain them through calibration, preventative maintenance, and repair.
  • Extract and process test data following well-defined methods and present the data in the required format.
  • Keep work area organized and assist lab supervisor in lab-wide implementation of 6S principles.
  • Apply basic skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment appropriate to area of specialization.
  • Conduct routine tests, analyze data, and document results.
  • Participate in systems integration, fabrication, and modification tasks.
  • Provide support with systems pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post-test tear-down.
  • Setup digital data acquisition equipment.
  • Compute and combine data and report findings to supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as required by supervisor.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
  • High School diploma plus 2 years of experience in electronics, hydraulics, or applicable military experience, or an Associate Degree in electronics, engineering, electrical field, or a related discipline.
  • General knowledge of electronics, computers, instrumentation, and plumbing.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate Degree in electronics, engineering, electrical, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in LabView.
  • Experience in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, hydraulics, welding, or vocational education.
  • Strong electronics background.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Data collection experience.
