About the position

The Engineering Technician position at RJN Group, Inc. is a vital role that supports the company's success by assisting with field inspection services and data analysis related to underground infrastructure. The technician will work under the guidance of Managers and Project Engineers, contributing to projects involving sanitary and storm sewers, and ensuring data quality and accuracy in various assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field inspection services such as manhole inspection, smoke testing, flow monitoring, and dyed water flooding including confined space entry work.
  • Assist with maintaining and cleaning equipment and vehicles to ensure work can be performed in a safe and productive manner.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures contained in the RJN Group, Inc. Safety Manual and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Process project information by compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.
  • Follow standard processes for routine data QC and processing.
  • Analyze data or information by identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information.
  • Travel and work overtime as required.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Planning or Environmental Science; or similar technical degree from accredited institution; or at least 2 years applicable experience in place of BS degree
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with data management functions such as backup, archive, restoration, merging and editing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Proficiency with computers and tablets
  • Mechanical skills (hand and power tools)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Physical and cognitive abilities to perform confined space entry
  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks
