About the position

The Engineering Technician position at Teledyne Technologies involves supporting engineering activities through technical functions such as design, testing, modification, and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems. The role requires applying principles of electronics and engineering mathematics to conduct tests and assist in research work, ensuring the reliability and performance of various systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Discuss layout and assembly procedures with Engineers or management and clarify design details through sketches.
• Recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
• Work from schematics, diagrams, and written descriptions to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting functions.
• Set up standard test apparatus to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests.
• Adjust, calibrate, align, and modify circuitry and components, recording effects on unit performance.
• Check functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering instructions for assembling electronics units.
• Perform preventative maintenance or calibration of equipment or systems.
• Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with external and internal sources to procure replacement parts.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1-2 years of experience in a directly related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• U.S. Person required for this position, including U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents.
