About the position

The Engineering Technician role at Permatex involves providing essential engineering support to the manufacturing process, packaging, and equipment areas. This position is crucial for maintaining and troubleshooting factory networks and manufacturing equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and safety in the production environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists with existing equipment modifications and new equipment installations.
• Provides electrical and mechanical support for new and existing equipment.
• Maintains and troubleshoots engineering factory networks.
• Troubleshoots and supports manufacturing equipment and process system issues.
• Assists in preparation of Capital Expenditures.
• Promotes and follows all safety guidelines and procedures.
• Recommends safety improvements as needed.
• Performs various other duties as necessary.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in engineering field is preferred.
• 3-5 years previous manufacturing experience.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience working with packaging and process systems electrics.
• AC and Servo motor and drive system experience.
• Vision system integration experience.
• Robotic systems integration experience preferred.
• Safety systems integration experience preferred.
• Instrumentation including loop tuning experience.
• Power distribution and troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Excellent communication skills required.
