About the position

The Engineering Technician supports the development of new and existing products and solutions. The Engineering Technician has the unique responsibility for bringing early-stage engineering designs to life through prototype fabrication and testing.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of new and existing products and solutions.
• Bring early-stage engineering designs to life through prototype fabrication and testing.
• Work with engineers to develop the best approach for fabrication.
• Interpret engineering drawings and procedures.
• Install measurement sensors and set up data acquisition.
• Develop test plans and conduct testing safety reviews.
• Source components and hardware necessary for prototype fabrication from vendors.
• Manage fabrication schedules.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Advanced fabrication techniques.
• Ability to operate hand tools and basic shop tools.
• Experience with brazing, soldering, and welding is a plus.
• Certificate from a technical school or a technical degree, or a few years of relevant experience.
• US Citizenship or permanent residency due to ITAR restrictions.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with CAD or 3D modeling.
• Knowledge of DC and AC electrical systems.
• Familiarity with LabView, vacuum systems, HVAC, liquid nitrogen, and control systems.
• Experience with data acquisition equipment.
