About the position

The Engineering Technician position at CMTS involves supporting infrastructure projects by ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and maintaining project documentation. The role emphasizes collaboration with project owners, superintendents, and engineers to facilitate effective project management and communication.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the project owner, project superintendents, and project engineer.
• Ensure all work conforms to contractual requirements.
• Verify that all materials incorporated into the project conform to submittals, project specifications, and drawings.
• Create and prepare outgoing correspondence to clients, subcontractors, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and professionalism.
• Manage the change order process with the project owner and trade partners, including identification, preparation, and timely submittal of protests and requests for equitable adjustments or claims.
• Manage submittal and RFI processes, including logs.
• Maintain the engineering drawing library and database; provide clerical support including scanning, copying, and printing documents.
• Perform material testing, including concrete compression strength testing, slump tests, and aggregate analysis.
• Ensure engineering and technical documentation is maintained and made available in a timely manner.
• Maintain project plans and files, ensuring they are current and accurate.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including MS Project.
• Ability to learn new computer programs quickly, including SharePoint.
• Knowledge of Bluebeam PDF software.
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
