About the position

Aguirre & Fields seeks to add a Civil Engineering Technician to their Texas or OKC team with expert-level experience using ORD on transportation projects. Responsibilities

  • Perform design and drafting functions for assigned projects using computer-aided drafting & design program OpenRoads Designer (ORD), and MicroStation.
  • Provide leadership with grit and character by being a good communicator, having interest in learning, be inspiring, a visionary, a team builder, live our Purpose, help achieving our Vision, allow others to shine, taking responsibility, leading by example, and being dependable, respectful, passionate and an active listener.
  • Work with the assigned Project Engineer or Project Manager and provide design support as needed.
  • Develop an understanding of design criteria and apply as applicable.
  • Assist in managing and preparing the PS&E deliverables for each assigned submittal.
  • Stay current with the latest CADD software capabilities and utilize as required.
  • Attend training (all formats) as required to maintain competency in current CADD software.
  • Assist in preparing engineering sketches/exhibits for client proposals/presentations.
  • Develop and manage project quantities as required.
  • Adhere to CAD practices, policies, and standards.
  • Acquire an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
  • Work with CADD staff regarding technical issues, training, and other CADD system issues.
  • Interact with other staff on assignments.
  • Perform CADD Operator duties as required.
  • Assume other duties as directed by the CADD Group Lead.
  • Support and maintain the morale, welfare, professional development, training, and work-life balance of all assigned staff utilizing the Company's Guiding Principles.
  • Comply with all Company policies, procedures, practices, and rules.
  • Serve as an example of proper conduct per Company Guiding Principles.
  • Live our Purpose and help achieve our Vision.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or comparable GED
  • 10 plus years of relevant CADD experience using OpenRoads Designer
  • Relevant technology/software experience: OpenRoads Designer
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
