About the position

Serves as an Engineering Technician in the areas of civil or mechanical engineering. The position involves serving as a Project Manager for construction and repair projects for all phases of a project, from predesign to construction phase. The incumbent will determine requirements, author Scope of Work (SOW) or Performance Work Statements (PWS), Independent Government Estimates (IGE), and other contract support documents. They will monitor and control project execution and keep abreast of current developments in the engineering and architecture fields to ensure applicability of the most efficient and practical methods to assigned projects.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a Project Manager for construction and repair projects for all phases of a project, from predesign to construction phase.
  • Determines requirements, authors Scope of Work (SOW) or Performance Work Statements (PWS), Independent Government Estimates (IGE), and other contract support documents.
  • Monitors and controls project execution.
  • Keeps abreast of current developments in the engineering and architecture fields and particularly its various specializations to ensure applicability of the most efficient and practical methods to assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination to ensure the required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • Possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs in the regular performance of duties.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
