About The Position
The Engineering Technician position at L3Harris Technologies is a hands-on role focused on manufacturing and assembly within the aerospace sector. This position requires technicians who are well-versed in aerospace assembly and high-reliability procedures. The primary responsibilities include supporting space structures, subassembly manufacturing, and Single Line Flow integration. Technicians will work as individual contributors with limited supervision, specifically in the manufacturing and integration of deployable mesh reflectors. The role involves following detailed engineering drawings and processes to ensure accurate mechanical assembly and testing of space hardware. In addition to assembly, the technician will be responsible for system-level hardware integration and preparing for system-level hardware testing, which includes deployments and vibration tests. Performing system-level alignments to meet stringent system requirements is also a critical aspect of the job. Field support for spacecraft integration and precision alignments is expected, requiring the technician to work for extended periods, sometimes above shoulder level. The role may involve moving equipment weighing up to 45 pounds and working at heights of up to 30 feet, necessitating a good level of physical fitness and manual dexterity. Repetitive movements and fine motor skills are essential for handling and manufacturing space hardware effectively.
