About the position

Responsibilities
- Layout, draft, and design drawings, plats, and maps using CAD software and manual methods.
- Perform office surveying duties, including calculating complex survey data and verifying calculations for accuracy.
- Provide technical information to city staff, contractors, developers, and the public regarding engineering projects.
- Prepare and maintain files, plats, charts, plans, and other civil engineering data.
- Analyze existing or proposed pipe systems and design appropriate pipe networks.
- Prepare cost estimates for designed projects and review incoming plan submittals for correctness and feasibility.
- Operate various engineering and computer equipment, maintaining it as needed.
- Scan, organize, and verify engineering plans and documents for retention.
Requirements
- Mid-level experience in CAD and engineering design.
- Strong understanding of surveying principles and practices.
- Ability to perform complex calculations and verify data accuracy.
- Proficient in using computer-aided design software and drafting tools.
- Excellent communication skills for providing technical information to various stakeholders.
