About the position
The Engineering Technician role at Actalent involves performing analytical tasks related to the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of electrical power distribution facilities. The position focuses on creating work orders, job sketches, and cost estimates while ensuring compliance with safety standards and guidelines. This role requires a strong understanding of GIS mapping and the ability to respond to storm damage and other urgent tasks.
Responsibilities
- Creates work orders, job sketches, material lists, and cost estimates.
- Updates GIS system for new jobs, property damage, and correction of errors to facilities.
- Uses Arc FM GIS mapping for job design and submission.
- Handles after-the-fact jobs following storm damage.
- Creates work orders in SAP and receives training for SAP for lineman to perform after-hours and storm work.
- Responds to routine questions and problems within established standards and guidelines.
Requirements
- Experience with electrical systems and power distribution facilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and GIS mapping software.
- Ability to work under direct supervision and follow established procedures.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with SAP software.
- Knowledge of safety standards in electrical engineering.
