About the position

The Engineering Technician at Tesla plays a vital role in the Failure Analysis and Automation Testing team, focusing on troubleshooting vehicle products and building automation testers. This position requires a hands-on approach to support engineers, sustain equipment, document procedures, and write instructions for operators, all while working in a fast-paced and innovative environment. Responsibilities

• Build and troubleshoot low-voltage DC testers using various loads and necessary harnesses.
• Assist with equipment installation, test fixture/cabinet assembly, and validation.
• Read and write technical documentation to support testing and analysis activities.
• Utilize electronic measurement equipment to identify failures and triage electronic circuits.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders using exemplary verbal and communication skills.

Requirements

• Experience with NEC NFPA 70 and previous lab environment experience.
• Proficiency in common MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience assembling equipment from mechanical engineering drawings.
• Proficient in reading electrical schematics and wiring electrical control panels.
• Experience installing, wiring, and plumbing common manufacturing devices.
• Working knowledge of DC/AC electrical systems.
