About the position

The Engineering Technician position at Eaton's ES AMER PCS division involves performing electrical and mechanical testing on engineering prototypes and production samples. This role is critical in supporting product development and maintenance activities, ensuring that testing is conducted accurately and efficiently under the guidance of project engineers. The technician will document test plans, record data, and provide detailed reports, contributing to the overall improvement of product function and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze assigned projects with the project engineer to understand the test program and execute it responsibly.
  • Look at drawings and assemble new products while collaborating with lead engineers.
  • Provide recommendations based on test results to improve product function or integrity.
  • Assist in the creation and design of tests and test fixtures for functional and environmental testing.
  • Follow standard test procedures and understand the capabilities and care of available equipment.
  • Assist in developing and enforcing safety regulations and improvements.
  • Coordinate and successfully close distinct assignments using creativity and resourcefulness.
  • Share knowledge with other technicians to enhance the team's core capabilities.
  • Execute monthly safety inspections in coordination with EHS management.
  • Become a Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) and maintain certification to meet EHS requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in a Technical related field or High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of lab experience.
  • Hands-on technical experience in electronic, mechanical, electro-mechanical, or software-related fields.
  • Ability to relocate to Pittsburgh, PA (Moon Twp area).
  • Legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical related field from an accredited institution.
  • Detailed skill in using computers for test documentation and analysis.
