About the position

The position involves participating in the Advanced Technology Team at Lincoln Electric to develop or improve new and existing products, particularly in the area of power electronics for welding equipment. The role includes providing technical support, performing diagnostics, and integrating electronic circuits into machines, while also ensuring compliance with design verification tests.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to engineers in the development and testing of new power electronic designs for Lincoln's Advanced Technology products.
  • Assist in the design of new welding equipment using experience and skills.
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic systems.
  • Build and integrate prototype electronic circuits into machines.
  • Operate basic lab equipment including meters, oscilloscopes, and temperature recorders.
  • Run a wide variety of design verification and compliance tests.
  • Gather, maintain, compile, and manipulate technical data.
  • Create detailed documentation of test results and various investigations.
  • May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company's 2025 Strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology (Level I).
  • Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology & 3+ years of related experience or Associate Degree in related field & 5+ years of related experience or 10+ years of related experience (Level II).
  • Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology & 5+ years of related experience or Associate Degree in related field & 7+ years of related experience or 15+ years of related experience (Level III).
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Understanding of how basic electronic components, like transistors and op-amps, function.
  • Experience using lab equipment like oscilloscopes, voltage, current, and power meters.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; CAD software; ability to learn SAP.
  • Ability to perform hands-on work and lift up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle a constantly changing set of priorities.
