About The Position
The Engineering & Technology Intern position at J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is designed for students currently enrolled in technology-related degree programs such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology. This internship provides an opportunity to gain practical industry experience during the summer, allowing interns to work up to 40 hours a week. Under routine supervision, interns will participate in various engineering and technology tasks as part of an assigned team, gaining exposure to the transportation industry and related systems. The role is structured to enhance the interns' understanding of the organizational software development lifecycle through participation in specialized training and hands-on experience. Interns will be expected to expand their knowledge of the transportation industry, perform limited analysis and design tasks, and troubleshoot bugs and problems with guidance from senior team members. This position not only aims to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application but also encourages interns to develop a comprehensive understanding of the processes involved in software development within the organization. The internship is an excellent opportunity for students to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting, preparing them for future careers in technology and engineering fields.
