The Engineering/Technology Teacher position at Clayton County Public Schools is designed to provide comprehensive instruction that integrates practical experiences, technical expertise, and academic rigor. The instructor will play a pivotal role in ensuring that students successfully complete their coursework in general education, professional education, and technology education. This position emphasizes the importance of engineering design experiences within the curriculum and aims to enhance the learning and teaching processes in technology education. The instructor will also be responsible for building leadership capacity by fostering a collaborative network of scholars dedicated to improving the understanding of engineering design in educational settings. In this role, the teacher will be tasked with planning a technology education program that includes a variety of instructional methods such as demonstrations, lectures, discussions, and hands-on student experiments. The instructor will ensure that activities are organized for optimal learning outcomes and will instruct students on the proper use, care, and safe handling of equipment. Additionally, the teacher will evaluate both the academic and social growth of students, prepare report cards, and maintain appropriate records as necessary. A critical aspect of this position is to provide safe storage and proper use of materials, equipment, and tools, while also establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior to foster a productive learning environment. The Engineering/Technology Teacher will communicate regularly with parents and school counselors regarding student progress and will be expected to perform all other duties as assigned to fulfill the responsibilities of the position effectively.
