About the position
The English Department at Jefferson Community College is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to grow our adjunct pool. Candidates may be needed to teach in one or more of the following courses: Basic Composition, Composition, Research and Composition, and Literature and Composition. There is also a possibility that adjuncts may be needed to teach other courses for the Department including Technical and Professional Writing as well as creative writing and/or specialty literature courses.
Requirements
- Master's degree in an English-related field (English, Composition and Rhetoric, Literary Studies, etc.) preferred
- Candidates with a bachelor's degree and relevant teaching/tutoring experience will be considered
- Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations
- Foster inclusion and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.
Benefits
- Level A - $665/credit hour
- Level B - $785/credit hour after teaching 6 semesters at Jefferson.
