About the position

We are a New York law firm specializing in Immigration law, currently seeking a Bilingual English and Spanish Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our team as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently. This role requires a high level of integrity and personal accountability, as well as the ability to follow instructions meticulously. The candidate should possess strong communication skills in both English and Spanish, enabling effective interaction with clients and colleagues alike. We welcome recent graduates and those on Optional Practical Training (OPT) to apply, provided they are bilingual and have authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents and filings related to immigration cases.
• Communicate with clients in both English and Spanish to gather information and provide updates on case status.
• Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are accurate and up-to-date.
• Conduct legal research as needed to support case preparation and strategy.
• Manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively, ensuring timely completion of assignments.

Requirements

• Bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong communication skills in both languages.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent multi-tasking and task management skills.
• High level of integrity and personal accountability.
• Ability to follow instructions carefully and ask for clarification when needed.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in immigration law or legal assistance is a plus, but not required.
