About the position

The Enrichment Specialist / Receptionist role at Central Bark involves the care and supervision of play groups of dogs in a dog daycare environment. The position requires employees to work part-time, including weekends and holidays, and entails a variety of responsibilities focused on ensuring the safety and well-being of the dogs in care. Employees will engage in physical activities, cleaning duties, and customer service to maintain high standards of care and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Caring for and supervising play groups of dogs according to science-based dog behavior and training knowledge.
• Engaging in enrichment activities with dogs, including playing, brushing, and applying first aid.
• Feeding, medicating, and cleaning up after dogs.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for the dogs in care.
• Documenting information about individual dogs and communicating with management.
• Assisting in the efficient operation of the facility and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Preferred dog handling skills, which may include pet ownership or experience working with animals.
• Ability to perform demanding physical activities, including lifting a minimum of 50 pounds and standing for long periods.
• Current Tetanus vaccination is required.
• Basic understanding of Windows-based applications is helpful.
• Ability to read and communicate dog information and issues effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in dog care for at least 1 year is preferred.
• Attendance at dog training and behavior seminars may be required.
