About the position

An enrichment specialist plans and implements programs to help students develop their skills and knowledge beyond the standard curriculum. They may work with students of all ages, from elementary school to middle school and high school. Enrichment programs can help students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and social interaction skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying students: Helping to determine which students qualify for enrichment programs
  • Developing curriculum: Creating programs that use higher-level thinking skills and problem-solving techniques
  • Communicating with parents and administrators: Keeping parents and building principals informed about student progress and classroom activities
  • Supporting students: Providing individualized learning activities and whole group practices
  • Tracking data: Helping teachers use data to determine the effectiveness of enrichment programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred
  • High School diploma and 48 college units or High School diploma and NCLB test certificate of passing grade or High School diploma and AA/AS or higher
  • A minimum of two years' experience working with youth is desirable
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Must pass a DOJ/FBI background check
  • Must receive TB clearance
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening
  • Must have reliable means of transportation which may include alternative means of transportation such as public transit, ride sharing, and or biking
