About the position

The IT Business Analyst III at Texas Tech University is responsible for coordinating, managing, and maintaining research database implementations and other data solutions. This role involves data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence implementations, as well as providing administrative support for various enterprise systems. The analyst will work closely with vendors, IT teams, and research staff to enhance and maintain systems, troubleshoot user issues, and propose process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, manage, and maintain research database implementations and data solutions.
• Provide, recommend, document, and implement research data solutions.
• Lead administrative support for the Office of Research SharePoint sites.
• Troubleshoot user issues and gather/document requirements.
• Lead administrative support for enterprise systems like REDCap and Cayuse.
• Perform analysis on business process issues and propose improvements.
• Create and maintain documentation for Research Data Management tasks.
• Analyze new third-party applications and tools for research goals.
• Coordinate system patches, enhancements, and upgrades with IT teams.
• Act as backup for the Research Data Management Director when requested.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required plus five (5) years related full-time paid experience.
• Experience with database-driven web applications in a university/research environment.
• Experience with Web Services and Windows Services.
• Experience with PHP, Linux, and MySQL.
• Experience with SharePoint, iRIS/iMedRIS, REDCap, Cayuse, and other research applications.
• Experience with Oracle, Banner/Cognos queries, and reporting.
• Experience with database migrations and Agile methodologies.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with reporting tools such as Crystal Reports, Tableau, and Microsoft Power BI.
• Experience working directly with end users and vendors.
