About the position

The Enteral Technician at Amerita is a vital role within the Pharmacy team, responsible for the preparation, labeling, and dispensing of enteral formulas and supplies. This position supports the management of enteral nutrition patients and ensures compliance with various regulations. The role is full-time, onsite, and offers opportunities for professional development and career progression.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule the dispensing of enteral products and supplies.
• Assist the Dietitian in managing enteral nutrition patients.
• Prepare labels and prescription dispensing worksheets.
• Complete and maintain product lot numbers and expiration dates.
• Generate delivery/pick slips under the supervision of the Dietitian.
• Pick and pull supplies and home medical equipment.
• Obtain supply inventories and compliance information from patients/clients.
• Communicate information obtained from patients/clients to the Dietitian as required.
• Participate in branch management, department, and intra-departmental meetings and quality improvement activities as requested.
• Adhere to all relevant regulations and standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required; some college or technical training preferred.
• 1-3 years of related experience in a home care or hospital setting.
• Valid driver's license.
• Effective mathematical and communication skills required.
• At least 1 year of experience in enteral nutrition service in a hospital or home infusion setting.
• General knowledge of enteral feeding terminology, enteral nutrition products, and supplies.
• Ability to work independently, accurately, and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Some college or technical training (Pharmacy or Dietetic Technician) preferred.
