About the position

The Enterprise Account Executive is a pivotal role within the Sales department, primarily focused on cultivating new relationships with Small to Medium Businesses (SMB) and Enterprise clients across various verticals. This position is essential for developing and closing new revenue opportunities for the company. The role may also involve managing existing accounts within the assigned region, particularly those connected to Uniti's current or planned fiber network builds. In this position, the Enterprise Account Executive will engage in strategic cold calling and business development activities, aiming to achieve significant volumes of in-person appointments each week or month. This proactive approach is crucial for meeting and exceeding assigned revenue targets. The role requires conducting thorough assessments of customer telecommunications and data infrastructure needs, identifying suitable solutions, and developing compelling written proposals to present to decision-makers. Additionally, the Enterprise Account Executive will be responsible for timely and accurate forecasting and reporting of sales activities and opportunities. Acting as a liaison between customers and company personnel, the Executive will facilitate the design, construction, installation, and service activation processes. The role also includes processing contracts and sales orders for new or upgraded services, as well as undertaking ad hoc projects and financial analyses to support key business decisions. Flexibility in working hours and travel is expected as part of this dynamic role.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, develop, and close sales with new customers in the assigned territory.
  • Engage in strategic cold calling and business development with a meaningful volume of in-person appointments per week/month.
  • Conduct customer telecommunications and data infrastructure needs assessments and identify suitable solutions.
  • Develop, present, and follow up on written proposals based on customer needs.
  • Forecast and report sales activity and opportunities accurately and timely.
  • Act as a liaison between the customer and company personnel during the design, construction, installation, and service activation process.
  • Process contracts and sales orders for new or upgraded services.
  • Perform ad hoc projects and financial analysis to support key business decisions and projects.
  • Work flexible hours and travel as needed.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years minimum of successful sales experience in telecom, data communications, or ISP environments.
  • Working knowledge of data and telecommunication industry and terminology.
  • Proven track record of success in exceeding assigned sales quotas.
  • Experience in creating and presenting compelling written sales proposals to decision makers.
  • Willingness to represent the company at networking events, tradeshows, and activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM software platforms is a plus.
  • Self-starter driven to achieve revenue targets primarily through cold calling and market development.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong customer orientation and good problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with new and emerging telecommunications technology, including fiber optics and VoIP-PBX.
