About the position

PeopleTec is seeking an Enterprise Architect / Cloud Solutions Architect to support the U.S. Army DOD customer in Huntsville, AL and/or Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining the overall architectural vision and framework, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, and overseeing the integration of complex systems to support U.S. Army initiatives in intelligence, electronic warfare, and sensor operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture framework for the US Army DOD customer.
  • Define the architectural vision for integrating and optimizing digital engineering systems.
  • Oversee the design and integration of complex systems across the Digital Engineering Environment.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance capabilities.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive architectural documentation.
  • Establish and enforce architectural standards and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and technical teams to define architectural requirements.
  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with architectural decisions.
  • Lead change management efforts related to enterprise architecture.
  • Provide mentorship and training on architectural best practices.

Requirements

  • 10-15 years of experience in enterprise architecture or systems engineering in a DoD environment.
  • Advanced cloud service/vendor certification from Azure or AWS.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with enterprise authentication and Role-Based Access in multi-platform environments.
  • Strong skills in deploying cloud-native applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services.
  • Proficient in using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code solutions.
  • Experience with CI/CD architectures/tools like GitLab, Ansible, Jenkins, Azure DevOps.
  • Strong networking background with knowledge of IP subnetting and network security.

Nice-to-haves

  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Proven track record in designing large-scale cloud environments in regulated settings.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and automation frameworks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and focus on innovation.
