About the position

The Enterprise Architect will play a crucial role in Autodesk's Data and Insights Service team, focusing on designing and building the data infrastructure for Autodesk's platforms. This position involves collaborating with software architects to create innovative data capabilities, ensuring the architecture supports the needs of the AEC and MFG industries. The role emphasizes the importance of SOC2 compliance and data governance, aiming to enhance how customers utilize data for decision-making and project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and analyze data requirements for Autodesk's AEC/MFG product data infrastructure.
  • Guide teams in implementing thread modeling best practices into architecture.
  • Implement procedures and best practices for SOC2 certification.
  • Build resiliency in the Data and Insight service.
  • Shape the components and governing principles of AEC/MFG data & Insight systems architecture.
  • Design, document, and support implementation of complex system architectures and databases.
  • Collaborate with software architects to develop strategic solutions for complex problems.
  • Create trustworthy technology by ensuring application performance and quality.
  • Articulate and collaborate on proposed software designs using diagrams and views.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of architectural patterns and technologies.
  • Work with peers to understand technology landscape and promote change.
  • Lead the reuse of platform capabilities and drive contributions to the Autodesk platform.
  • Explain and present technical topics to varied audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of SOC2 compliance across data platforms.
  • Develop and maintain the architecture roadmap aligned with business goals.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies for data integrity and security.
  • Identify and mitigate security risks in data handling and processing.
  • Stay updated on SOC2 standards and security trends, recommending improvements.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of architecture designs and compliance measures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Software Architect or similar role in data-intensive cloud environments.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise architecture focusing on SOC2 compliance and data-oriented systems.
  • Experience with cloud services, database architecture, AI/ML, big data tools, and frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of data management and processing principles.
  • Experience in implementing SOC2 processes and data security principles.
  • Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture.
  • Mastery of conveying complex ideas concisely and impactfully.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with a global team and travel for work 5-10 times per year.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction and/or Manufacturing industry.
  • An advanced degree in computer science.
  • Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, CISSP, CISM, or SOC2-related credentials.
