About the position

The Enterprise Architect (Portfolio Management) at Fisher Investments is responsible for planning and developing the enterprise architecture environment, focusing on cloud platforms to support the Portfolio Management Group. This role involves collaborating with internal technology teams, third-party vendors, and implementation partners to align technology solutions with the firm's strategic priorities. The architect will lead the evaluation of current technology solutions, define architectural principles, and create multi-year roadmaps to enhance the firm's technology transformation program.

Responsibilities

  • Define and oversee adherence to enterprise architecture principles and standards across applications, infrastructure, and information security.
  • Lead the selection of important platforms (cloud and on-premises), products, and vendors for enterprise programs.
  • Ensure application and system architecture aligns with enterprise needs, particularly for cloud-based data and integration architecture for portfolio management.
  • Evaluate current technology solutions and plan, design, and coordinate multi-year roadmaps for applications and support activities.
  • Survey the technology landscape to identify systems and solutions that align with firm strategy and collaborate with executive leadership.
  • Function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to various teams including Technology Business Services, Infrastructure and Operations, and Information Security.
  • Facilitate optimization of current state architecture during the transformation to future state architecture.
  • Develop Proofs of Concept (POCs) to facilitate architectural decisions and guide implementation teams.
  • Support problem-solving with pragmatic architectures and implementation approaches.
  • Tailor presentations and conversations to the appropriate audience, including business stakeholders and technical executives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in solution/technical/business architecture roles.
  • 7+ years of experience leading solution/technical architecture teams.
  • 5+ years of architecture experience in a large wealth management or asset management firm.
  • Strong knowledge of wealth management and portfolio management concepts, data domains, and workflows.
  • High-level understanding of multiple order management and portfolio accounting platforms.
  • Experience with application, data, integration, security, and technology platform architectures, particularly Azure services and Salesforce.com.
  • Broad understanding of market/industry trends and architecture frameworks.
  • Highly advanced ability to investigate and analyze issues to resolution.
  • Experience implementing multiple complex enterprise-level changes simultaneously.
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing employees.
  • Expertise in translating enterprise needs into viable solutions.
  • Strong decision-making, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems or related technical field or equivalent experience.
