About the position

The Enterprise Architect (Salesforce) at Fisher Investments plays a crucial role in shaping the enterprise architecture environment, focusing on the design and architecture of cloud platforms that support the Sales and Client Service groups within a large wealth management firm. This position is pivotal as the firm continues to grow internationally, necessitating a robust technological foundation to support its diverse business needs. The architect will be responsible for developing architectural principles and standards, ensuring that technology aligns with the firm's strategic goals. In this role, you will collaborate with internal technology teams, third-party vendors, and implementation partners to build a technology transformation program. You will create multi-year roadmaps that align enterprise-wide solutions with Fisher's priorities, while also surveying the technology landscape to guide the evolution of the current environment. Reporting to the Vice President of Enterprise Architecture, you will be part of a team of experienced architects dedicated to optimizing the firm's technology infrastructure. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include defining and overseeing adherence to enterprise architecture principles, leading the selection of platforms and vendors, and ensuring that application architectures meet enterprise needs. You will also evaluate current technology solutions, facilitate the optimization of architecture during transformation, and develop proofs of concept to support architectural decisions. Tailoring presentations to various audiences, from business stakeholders to technical executives, will be essential in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Define and oversee adherence to enterprise architecture principles and standards across applications, infrastructure, and information security.
  • Lead the selection of important platforms, products, and vendors for programs across the enterprise.
  • Ensure application and system architecture is consistent with enterprise needs, particularly for cloud-based data and integration architecture with Salesforce FSC.
  • Evaluate current technology solutions and plan, design, and coordinate multi-year roadmaps for applications and support activities.
  • Survey the technology landscape to identify systems and solutions that align with firm strategy and collaborate with executive leadership to implement appropriate technology solutions.
  • Function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to various teams including Technology Business Services, Infrastructure and Operations, and Information Security.
  • Facilitate optimization of current state architecture during the transformation to future state architecture.
  • Develop proofs of concept (POCs) to facilitate architectural decisions and provide guidance to implementation teams.
  • Support problem-solving with pragmatic architectures and implementation approaches.
  • Tailor presentations and conversations to the appropriate audience, including business stakeholders, technical executives, or developers.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in solution, technical, or business architecture roles.
  • 7+ years of experience leading solution or technical architecture teams.
  • 5+ years of architecture experience in a large wealth management or asset management firm.
  • Strong knowledge of Sales and Client Servicing in a wealth management context.
  • Experience with application, data, integration, security, and technology platform architectures and implementation patterns.
  • Experience with Salesforce Financial Services Cloud strongly preferred.
  • Salesforce architecture certification preferred.
  • Experience with Azure data and integration services preferred.
  • Familiarity with market and industry trends and architecture frameworks.
  • Highly advanced ability to investigate and analyze issues to resolution.
  • Experience implementing multiple complex enterprise-level changes simultaneously, including guiding and measuring adoption of best practices.
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing employees.
  • Expertise in translating enterprise needs and problems into viable solutions.
  • Expertise in decision-making, conflict resolution, negotiation, and influence.
  • Ability to tailor conversations to the audience, including business and technology executives and developers.
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems or related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
