About the position

The GAS Enterprise Architect plays a crucial role in guiding Gas Technology Solutions and affiliate leaders in formulating and implementing technology strategies that align with business objectives. This position is responsible for developing high-level designs for IT architecture, providing leadership and strategic decision-making, and facilitating the delivery of targeted business outcomes through technical solutions. The role requires a visionary approach to developing roadmaps and strategies for assigned technology areas, ensuring compliance with architecture standards, and mentoring technical experts.

Responsibilities

• Analyze strategy and trends with business partners to define requirements and models for technology decisions.
• Communicate and enforce technology standards with business partners.
• Understand industry trends and apply existing and emerging technologies.
• Drive digital innovation and develop roadmaps to fulfill strategic business plans.
• Define high-level migration plans to address gaps in current architecture.
• Coach and mentor technical subject matter experts to ensure consistency across architectures.
• Consult with project solution architects to leverage best architecture patterns.
• Design and own governance and standards activities for enterprise technology architecture.
• Review and govern the viability of project technical designs based on compliance with IT architecture standards.
• Oversee evaluation, risk assessment, selection, and design of technology and product standards.
• Deliver technology architecture artifacts, including reference architectures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 10+ years' experience in architecture.
• Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect or in a similar role, designing and implementing enterprise architecture plans for large organizations.
• Ability to develop and maintain enterprise architecture vision, strategy, and roadmap.
• Define and enforce architecture standards and best practices for IT systems and applications.
• Effective leadership and interpersonal skills, including teamwork and negotiation.
• Strong consulting skills in communications, engagement management, and stakeholder management.
• Trusted thought leader capable of influencing business and IT leaders.
• Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies.
• Knowledge of cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data analytics tools.
• Understanding of business ecosystems, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, SOA, APIs, and microservices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills for complex data challenges.
• Proficiency in enterprise architecture tools and documentation standards.
• Experience with utility-related business processes and technologies.
• Deep knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and development principles.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments and conflicting priorities.
• Excellent communication skills to translate technical ideas into non-technical language.
