About the position

The Enterprise Architecture Data Architect at McKesson is responsible for creating a scalable and efficient data architecture that supports business analytics, reporting, and data management efforts. This role requires extensive experience in data modeling, database design, data governance, and cloud-based data solutions, ensuring data quality, accessibility, and security across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data architecture that aligns with the organization's goals and supports business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
  • Design data models for operational and analytical systems, ensuring consistency and scalability.
  • Oversee the design and maintenance of database systems, ensuring performance optimization and security.
  • Define and implement data integration strategies across systems, both on-premise and in the cloud, ensuring seamless data flow across the enterprise.
  • Work closely with data engineers, application architects, and business stakeholders to align data strategies with overall enterprise architecture.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging data technologies, tools, and platforms that support the organization's data architecture.
  • Support and enforce data governance policies and standards to ensure data quality, security, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Typically requires 13+ years of experience, with 8+ years of direct work related experience.
  • Expertise in data modeling tools.
  • Experience with data governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and other data management programming languages.
  • Proven experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
