About the position

The Enterprise Business/Data Analyst (EBA) plays a crucial role as a technical liaison between EDP and various business units, focusing on understanding and enhancing data goals, requirements, and processes. This position involves leveraging business analysis and data analysis skills to demonstrate the value of the enterprise data portfolio and facilitate the development of comprehensive business strategies. The EBA will also contribute to establishing a BA Community of Practice within EDP, ensuring effective collaboration and knowledge sharing among business analysts.

Responsibilities

• Learn and evolve into a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on EDP's enterprise data model and data products.
• Assist internal and external teams with information regarding EDP's data portfolio.
• Gather and analyze data and business processes for new projects in EDP's project intake pipeline.
• Maintain and improve the EDP data catalog and data discovery tools, including knowledge articles and data dictionaries.
• Identify trends in tool usage and recommend improvements.
• Assess data quality across various datasets and provide recommendations for enhancements.
• Collaborate with business units and development teams to understand their data needs and provide analytical support.
• Communicate and implement business process improvements based on data analysis findings.
• Identify and interpret trends, patterns, and anomalies within datasets.
• Compose performant SQL queries using performance optimization techniques.
• Utilize data modeling tools like ERwin to understand dataset relationships and share knowledge.
• Create visualizations and dashboards using data analysis tools such as Power BI or Amazon Quicksight.
• Test business processes, identify data issues, assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and document findings.
• Build relationships with business product owners, practitioners, and executive leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Excellent SQL skills for data querying and analysis.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong storytelling and presentation skills.
• Leadership skills to manage other BAs and conduct community-of-practice sessions.
• Curiosity and persistence with a bias for action.
