About The Position

The Enterprise Compliance Program Director at Valley National Bank will support the Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Regulatory Relations in managing the organization through strategic planning and administration of compliance programs. This role is pivotal in driving regulatory relations across the company, ensuring that engagements are coordinated and comprehensive, while also overseeing regulatory examinations and interactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of regulatory compliance or financial crime compliance experience in the Financial Services industry.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory interactions and exam management.
  • Ability to analyze compliance problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent influencing, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional writing skills for synthesizing complex concepts into presentations.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple high-priority initiatives.
  • Highly motivated with attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Experience managing transformations in complex organizations.
  • Project management experience with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, including data analysis and reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or J.D.
  • Experience in a regulatory-facing role.
  • CRCM Certification or CAMS.

Responsibilities

  • Support the CECO & Head of Regulatory Relations in managing the organization for seamless operations and communication.
  • Manage ongoing regulatory interactions and relationships across the company, including meetings and information requests.
  • Oversee and manage regulatory examinations to ensure expectations are addressed consistently.
  • Conduct exam readiness assessments to proactively identify issues and prepare documentation for submission.
  • Support junior staff in executing administrative requirements for regulatory exams and guidance on submissions.
  • Assist in developing regulatory presentations and preparing for engagements with regulators.
  • Develop regulatory reporting dashboard summaries for senior leaders on interactions and key findings.
  • Establish relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure integrated regulatory relations.
  • Champion the Bank's values and culture, promoting excellence, growth, safety, and integrity.
