About the position

The Director of Regulatory Relations at Valley Bank is responsible for managing the organization's regulatory interactions and relationships, ensuring seamless operations and exemplary communication. This role involves developing strategies for enterprise-wide regulatory relations, overseeing regulatory examinations, and providing support to junior staff. The Director will also create regulatory reporting dashboards and insights for senior leaders, while fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support the CECO & Head of Regulatory Relations in managing the organization for seamless operations.
  • Develop a cohesive strategy for the Bank's enterprise-wide regulatory relations.
  • Manage ongoing regulatory interactions and relationships across the company.
  • Conduct exam readiness assessments to ensure proactive identification of issues.
  • Support junior staff in executing administrative requirements for regulatory exams.
  • Develop regulatory presentations and prepare for regulatory engagements.
  • Create regulatory reporting dashboard summaries for senior leaders.
  • Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders across the three lines of defense.
  • Champion the Bank's values and culture.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in regulatory relations within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships with regulators and stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies for regulatory engagement.
  • Experience in managing regulatory examinations and readiness assessments.
