This job is responsible for leading the most complex technical designs that enable business strategies in accordance with architectural governance, standards, and policies. Key responsibilities include facilitating deployment of the most complex technical solutions by developing templates, playbooks, and automation used during implementation. The Data Network Engineer supports initiatives as they transition between design, implementation, and operations. They are active in all phases as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support, solve program issues, and facilitate decision-making. The goal is to help the orderly and timely execution of projects and initiatives in an optimal, strategic, and low-risk way. The role performs a Quality Assurance (Q/A) function prior to every implementation project, reviews designs, and ensures compliance with standards. The engineer conducts technology assessments, focuses on managing the design and implementation of new technology solutions, and provides design and detailed consulting as a network subject matter expert. They deliver design proposals, budgets, and scopes for all requests, working closely with the Architecture and Product Engineering teams to develop, review, communicate, and revise network standards. The position involves large-scale network planning and project management via technical processes, standards, and governance as they relate to network engineering activities. Technical areas of focus include WAN/MAN, Routing, Switching, Firewalls, Load Balancers, LAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, Latency, NAC, QoS, CAC, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, Multicast, NHRP, IPv4, IPv6, MPLS, ACL, VPN, and Building Wireless/Wi-Fi solutions with Aruba and carrier in-building wireless services (DAS).
