About the position

Zurich North America is currently seeking an Enterprise Data Analyst to join our Data Management team at our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois. This position is primarily based in Schaumburg, but we are open to remote work for a well-qualified candidate, with the understanding that occasional travel to Schaumburg will be necessary. The Enterprise Data Analyst will play a crucial role as a member of an Agile Scrum/Kanban Development team, collaborating with Business and Data Management stakeholders to analyze data and propose solutions that meet business system needs. This role requires a deep understanding of business objectives, processes, and products, as well as the capabilities of business systems to effectively define, document, and implement systems scope and objectives. As a key member of the Data Management team, the Enterprise Data Analyst will be responsible for data profiling, analyzing, and documenting the technical requirements for their assigned Agile team backlog. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to master complex data transformation concepts, including data warehousing principles, and will be adept at capturing requirements and mappings in a formal manner. Resilience in the face of complex systems, problems, and demanding deadlines is essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively in a highly interdependent, high-performance team environment. The Enterprise Data Analyst will work closely with the team to translate business needs into technical specifications and user stories for product increments while supporting the design, construction, and implementation of updates to applications in an Agile environment. The successful candidate will be an energetic and skilled professional who requires minimal supervision and operates as a servant leader within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the Agile Scrum/Kanban Development team.
  • Analyze data and suggest solutions for business systems needs.
  • Understand business objectives, processes, and products to formulate and document systems scope and objectives.
  • Conduct data profiling and analyze technical requirements for the Agile team backlog.
  • Master complex data transformation concepts, including data warehousing principles.
  • Capture requirements and mappings in a formal manner.
  • Collaborate with the team to translate business needs into technical specifications/user stories.
  • Support the design, construction, and implementation of application updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Data Management area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Data Management area.
  • Experience with data interrogation/analysis techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in a highly interdependent, high-performance team.

  • Experience with SQL, PL/SQL.
  • Data Warehouse experience / normalized tables.
  • ETL Informatica experience.
  • Data Profiling, Data analysis, and Data Mapping experience.
  • Background working in Agile/Scrum Methodology.
