About the position

The Enterprise Architect I - Application Integration at Dollar Tree is responsible for architecting and directing software development efforts to ensure enterprise scalability, reliability, and maintainability. This role involves defining the Application Integration Architecture and Integration Development Roadmap, leading multiple application development teams, and collaborating with various stakeholders to align data architecture with business requirements and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as leader of the Architecture of all Applications Integration, including Supply Chain, Merchandising, Global Sourcing, Back Office, Digital and Store Operation technology teams.
  • Provide direction for Application Architecture, Design, Development, Unit/Integration Testing, Implementation, and turnover documentation for assigned business domains.
  • Ensure Data Architecture aligns with business requirements and best practices.
  • Drive adherence to sprint and/or project milestones.
  • Collaborate on the definition of key application performance indicators and SLAs, measure and communicate across the IT organization.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and business partners to ensure delivery on IT promises.
  • Evaluate team members' performance, provide feedback and coaching to motivate them to achieve objectives.
  • Partner with ITIL Process Owners for Incident, Problem, Change, and Configuration Management to ensure correct application development processes are in place.
  • Assist with preparation and management of capital and expense budgets.
  • Perform project and non-project related tasks to support departmental goals and objectives.
  • Serve as primary product lead on strategic initiatives, determining project structure, work streams, and team leads.
  • Develop and maintain project plans with detailed tasks, activities, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Evaluate project resource requirements and continuously assess product priorities, developing contingency plans.
  • Document product decisions, action items, issues, and risks, and maintain product document repositories.
  • Serve as primary liaison with external vendors and manage project financial budgets, actuals, and forecasts.
  • Prepare project status reports and steering committee presentations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years senior IT leadership experience and understanding of all aspects of a large-scale application delivery function.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of employees and management.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Experience leading others in Lean and/or Agile methodologies; experience in a product-centric organization is a plus.
  • Experience in Oracle, DB2, Machine Learning libraries, digital/ecommerce technologies.
  • Experience in migrating from monolithic development methods to microservices/container-based methods preferred.
  • Experience with GCP services such as Cloud Storage, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub.
  • Experience with confluent message brokers, Talend Data Fabric, Data Virtualization, and Data Engineering Architecture.
  • Experience with OIC Integration Patterns.
  • Experience optimizing Batch and Stream processes.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and Data Modeling tools.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems; master's degree preferred.
  • Certification or experience with Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
  • Certification or experience with Data Management framework CDMP.
