About the position

Essentia Health is an integrated healthcare system serving patients in North Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Our mission is to make a healthy difference in people's lives through our high-quality, compassionate care. We are a leading healthcare provider with a commitment to delivering excellent patient care and creating healthier communities. To uphold our standards, we rely on innovative technology and data solutions. We're currently looking for an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to join our team in a remote capacity, playing a crucial role in optimizing how we handle data across our healthcare network. If you are passionate about healthcare, data, and technology, this is the perfect opportunity to make a significant impact in a rapidly evolving industry. As an Enterprise Data Architect, you will design and maintain robust, scalable, and secure data models that support the needs of a complex healthcare organization. You will develop and govern enterprise data architecture standards and practices, ensuring consistency and integration across various platforms and systems. Leading the peer review and change control process for enterprise and application-level datasets will be a key responsibility, facilitating collaborative sessions to gather feedback on both mature and in-development data models. You will ensure that all changes to datasets are rigorously evaluated, documented, and communicated to all stakeholders, reinforcing data integrity and consistency across the organization. Additionally, you will lead initiatives to create, maintain, and enhance comprehensive data dictionaries that provide clear guidance to technical and business stakeholders. Working collaboratively with business partners to understand their data needs, you will translate business requirements into technical specifications. Driving the discovery, design, and implementation of data solutions that improve data accessibility, quality, and value across the enterprise will be essential. You will guide the selection of database technologies and data management tools to optimize storage, integration, and retrieval of large sets of clinical and operational data. Furthermore, you will devise strategies for data warehousing, data lakes, and big data platforms, incorporating emerging technologies where appropriate. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements related to data, including but not limited to HIPAA and other privacy standards, will also be part of your role. Regular data audits and quality checks will be conducted, implementing corrective measures to address any issues identified.
