About the position

We are looking for an Enterprise Data Architect to join our Agricultural Solutions team at BASF Corporation in Research Triangle Park, NC. This role is pivotal in designing and implementing a scalable and efficient data architecture that aligns with the organization's business goals and objectives. The Enterprise Data Architect will ensure the integrity, quality, and security of data across all platforms by enforcing data governance and collaborating with key stakeholders. This position is not just about maintaining existing systems; it is about driving innovation by evaluating and integrating emerging technologies while providing strategic guidance on best practices in data management to align with industry standards and organizational goals. As an Enterprise Data Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing efficient and scalable enterprise data architecture to support business goals and objectives. You will also design, implement, and enforce data governance and security measures to ensure compliance and protect data assets. Guiding and consulting data modeling teams will be a key part of your role, as you will enforce guidelines and standards to ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all data sources and platforms. Collaboration with Enterprise Architects, Governance, and digital products and platform teams will be essential to create cohesive and scalable data solutions for the organization. Additionally, you will implement the Data Strategy, mapping consumers and producers, and creating the necessary guardrails for establishing a data marketplace. Evaluating, recommending, and integrating new technologies to enhance data management processes and support business innovation will also be part of your responsibilities. This role is crucial in helping farmers deliver the best possible outcomes while achieving a balance between economic, environmental, and social value creation for sustainable and efficient agriculture.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement efficient and scalable enterprise data architecture to support business goals and objectives.
  • Design, implement, and enforce data governance and security measures to ensure compliance and protect data assets.
  • Guide and consult data modeling teams, enforcing guidelines and standards to ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all data sources and platforms.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Governance, and digital products and platform teams to create cohesive and scalable data solutions for the organization.
  • Implement the Data Strategy, mapping consumers and producers, and creating the necessary guardrails for establishing a data marketplace.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and integrate new technologies to enhance data management processes and support business innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with TOGAF and/or DAMA framework, practices, and methods.
  • Proven experience as a Data Architect (8-10 years) or in a similar role.
  • Experience designing data warehouses and data lakes, and respective tools.
  • Experience with AI & Advanced Analytics, as well as Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), which is a plus.
  • Proficiency in data modeling, database design, and data integration methodologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced analytics tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Knowledge of industry standards in data management.
