About the position

The Enterprise Data Architect at BASF's Agricultural Solutions team is responsible for designing and implementing a scalable and efficient data architecture that aligns with the organization's business goals. This role emphasizes data integrity, quality, and security across all platforms, while also driving innovation through the integration of emerging technologies and best practices in data management.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing efficient and scalable enterprise data architecture to support business goals and objectives.
  • Designing, implementing, and enforcing data governance and security measures to ensure compliance and protect data assets.
  • Guiding and consulting data modeling teams, enforcing guidelines and standards to ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all data sources and platforms.
  • Collaborating with Enterprise Architects, Governance, and digital products and platform teams to create cohesive and scalable data solutions for the organization.
  • Implementing the Data Strategy, mapping consumers and producers, and creating the necessary guardrails for establishing a data marketplace.
  • Evaluating, recommending, and integrating new technologies to enhance data management processes and support business innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with TOGAF and/or DAMA framework, practices, and methods.
  • Proven experience as a Data Architect (8-10 years) or in a similar role.
  • Experience designing data warehouses and data lakes, and respective tools.
  • Experience with AI & Advanced Analytics, as well as Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), which is a plus.
  • Proficiency in data modeling, database design, and data integration methodologies.
